Types of TMJ Disorders

There are many different types of TMJ disorders, most involve the chewing muscles, bones, ligaments, or a combination of these that can create extreme discomfort.

What is the TMJ?

The temporomandibular joint is the interface between your lower jaw and the base of your skull. The TMJ is a very complex joint space with multiple moving parts and points of pressure / contact. Chewy foods, stress, and strong bite forces can all create tmj issues and ultimately create discomfort.
